Moscow Wind College Band, Russia The Concert Youth Orchestra of the State Wind College is a young group. It exists from 1990 - the year of the College foundation. The members are also young - their age varies from 14 to 18. Brass orchestra of the Specialized Children Music School Nr. 80 was organized in 1980 in the Krasnaya Presnia district of Moscow and has served as a basis for arrangement of the present college orchestra. The College was founded on the basis of the school. The best pupils of the school became the first students of the College. They formed the core of the concert group of the Youth Orchestra. The principle cast of the Orchestra is not numerous: there are not more than 35 performers. It is true however that depending on the tasks of the concerts (performance of the compositions requiring numerous musicians, participation in the ceremonials) the orchestra can be increased by inviting the supporting cast. But it does not happen frequently. Besides the Concert Orchestra and its supporting cast there are three more orchestras composed of 6-9 - year pupils. Each of these orchestras has its own educational tasks depending on age and music education level of the children but the main aim for all of them is the formation of young musicians for the professional activity.
